Subproject Manager Permits Contracting

Svenska kraftnät is one of the most important players in the transition to sustainable energy. With us in the Network division, you will help expand and maintain the transmission grid – a crucial part of Sweden's electrification. To succeed in our socially important mission, we need to build 300 kilometers of lines and commission 20 stations each year. Together, we create a stable and sustainable energy infrastructure for the future.

About the position

The energy transition presents significant challenges for the power system and requires extensive investments. Large parts of our transmission grid are outdated, and we at Svenska kraftnät are working to develop and expand the grid while reinvesting in the existing one.

As a Subproject Manager Permits Contracting, you will play a central role in coordinating and driving permit processes during design and contracting, while also contributing to strengthening our ability to realize the expansion of the transmission grid. The role involves ensuring that all permits, notifications, approvals, and exemptions are in place on time and meet the required quality in our line, station, and demolition projects.

Your responsibilities include:

• Identifying, assessing, and managing risks related to time, cost, and quality within your area, in close collaboration with project managers and consultants.
• You independently drive your area of responsibility but are also a key person in the project team, contributing to an efficient and solution-oriented process in complex infrastructure projects.
• You lead meetings and dialogue with supervisory authorities, municipalities, county administrative boards, and other central actors.

As a Subproject Manager, you also help drive business development aimed at streamlining permit processes, working methods, and routines.

Permits Contracting belongs to the section of Permits & Land Access, in the Department of Line Projects, and is part of the Network Division that builds and manages the transmission network at Svenska kraftnät. Permits Contracting is divided into two units that mainly have the same mission but are responsible for the permit work in Svenska kraftnät's project operations in different parts of the country depending on where the projects are located.

About you

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who is structured, driven, and solution-oriented. You have a clear focus on results and work purposefully to achieve set goals. When challenges arise, you have the ability to quickly find ways forward and solutions that advance the work in dialogue with the project group. Furthermore, you are attentive and unpretentious in collaboration with others and have an easy time building consensus and creating a good collaborative climate.

You should also adhere to the government value base. We place great importance on your personal qualities.

Additionally, you have an academic degree in environmental science, law, natural sciences, archaeology, urban planning, or equivalent relevant education or equivalent competence acquired in another way that Svenska kraftnät deems equivalent. You also have:

• Several years of practical experience with the Environmental Code and/or the Cultural Heritage Act
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English
• Driving license B

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• Several years of experience in permit work before and during the contracting phase
• Experience in managing and leading consultants in complex project environments
• Experience in infrastructure projects
• Experience from work with the Electricity Act
• Experience in preparing tender documents and/or environmental control in the contracting phase
• Experience in working with water activities and relevant legislation
• Experience working with or in close collaboration with relevant authorities such as county administrative boards, the Energy Markets Inspectorate, or municipalities
• Experience with the Planning and Building Act
